Join us a Network Engineer. Help our Network Service Operations team take the next step as we transform the DWPs datacentre and remote site network infrastructure into leading edge technologies.

As a Network Engineer, you will provide operational support and carry out planned work like upgrades and failover exercises as well as providing input into service improvements.
We have several projects underway in Wi-Fi, On-Prem Datacentre and Cloud solutions that require skilled, self-sufficient, and determined engineers to drive improvements and good practices, as well as ensuring current legacy infrastructure remains stable.
You will need the skills to:
Provide support for incident and problem resolution, this could involve out of hours work.
Implement BAU exercises, this could involve out of hours work.
Use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organisation and 3rd-Parties suppliers.
Understand ITSM process with a focus on Incident, Problem and Accept into Service Management.
Conduct network monitoring and analysis tooling – e.g. BMC Entuity, Wireshark and NetScout
Provide strong technical knowledge in Cloud and On-Prem Network Infrastructure, Next Generation Firewall, Load-balancing, and PKI technologies
Full training and development are available for the following if you don't already have these skills:
Aruba Central and Clearpass
Arista Cloud-vision and DC-VXLAN
Infrastructure as Code and Network Automation in Terraform, Ansible and Python

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £48,347
Pension: You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth up to £12,557
Holidays: You'll get a generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31, plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take extra days off on flexi leave.
