Job Title:  Software Support Engineer

Location:  Solihull

Salary:  £25,000 – £30,000 (experience dependant) + shift allowance (c£2,500) and overtime opportunities – 1 year FTC (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Purpose:

Join our client's team to support a bespoke software system at a prominent production facility in Solihull. You will be based on site, working in a 3-shift pattern. The role involves maintaining the tailored software equipment to ensure maximum production uptime, providing both technical and application support for all hardware and software products. Comprehensive training on the system will be provided. Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems and Applications is essential, with a basic understanding of networking principles being advantageous.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to support tooling solutions and related equipment in production, reporting to the on-site team leader.
Perform on-site duties including error tracking, system analysis, hotfix testing, and incident management.
Assist with customer training, product installation, issue resolution, and programming support for all products.
Develop and execute new or refined support processes and procedures for customers.
Collect customer requests and coordinate with project management, engineering, and sales teams to respond appropriately.
Provide timely technical support via telephone, email, or on-site visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
Troubleshoot network installations and diagnose performance issues.
Key Skills/Attributes & Experience:

Qualification or experience in software or network support.
Knowledge of manufacturing or customer service environments.
Experience with Windows computer systems and networking.
Clean driving licence
Excellent team player with attention to detail.
Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and determined.
