SCITEK Consultants Ltd is a Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) based in Derby and has been in business for over 25 years. Our mission is to provide innovative R&D services to help develop and test our customers’ products. Our portfolio includes countless projects for key players in the aerospace, rail, pharmaceutical industry and we are now increasingly engaging in projects in renewable energy. Our clients come to us with a wide range of challenging projects which typically include aspects of mechanical design, electrical design and software development.

To meet increased demand within the UK and abroad the company is growing and looking to recruit a talented and highly motivated engineer. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work on all aspects of exciting, fast-paced projects, gaining valuable experience in a wide range of engineering areas. This role will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously within small teams to design, manufacture and commission bespoke test equipment.

Job description

This is a multi-disciplined, diverse role, which drawing on your areas of specialism could include (but is not limited to):

• End to end involvement in projects from costing to commissioning.

• Software development for instrumentation and control systems.

• Design and implementation of user interfaces.

• Hands on system testing and debugging.

• Working on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.

Candidate requirements

Minimum:

• Minimum degree qualification or equivalent industry experience in software development.

• Experienced user of LabVIEW and/or Python.

• An effective communicator.

• Be highly motivated to learn and keen apply their knowledge to new areas.

• The ability to develop attractive user interfaces.

• Have good practicalskills.

• The ability to see projects through from conception to completion.

Desired:

• PLC programming.

• Knowledge of National Instruments hardware and instrumentation.

• Familiarity with industrial sensors and COTS hardware.

• Project managementskills to ensure projects run smoothly and on time.

• Experience with Java script and web based development.
