Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team.

Location: London, UK (Remote) *must be based in the UK as will require occasional travel into the office*

Salary: £60K – £85k PA (dependant on experience)

Senior Software Engineer – The Role:

Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take a leadership role within their development team, acting as the driving force behind the development of their new web platform for educators.  You will thrive within a fast-paced agile environment and will provide support and mentorship to the junior developers on the team.

Senior Software Engineer – Key Responsibilities:

– Lead projects, oversee the development and upkeep of software features, and manage the build/release/test infrastructure

– Ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions according to specifications

– Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives and spearhead efforts to enhance team efficiency

– Conduct peer code reviews with less experienced developers

– Maintain adherence to sound development planning and procedures

– Adhere to industry best practices and coding standards

– Enhance application performance and elevate user experience through innovative front-end and – back-end development strategies

– Provide assistance to junior to mid-level developers as needed

Senior Software Engineer – You:

– Proficiency in PHP version 7 and above using Laravel or Symfony.

– Demonstrated experience in leading teams and mentoring junior developers

– Proven track record in developing REST APIs

– Familiarity with working in Test-Driven Development environments

– Understanding of AWS

– Comfortable working within Agile methodology

– Proficiency in contemporary workflow and tools such as Git, Composer, or equivalents

– Expertise in crafting automated tests (using PHPUnit/PEST)

– Familiarity with Docker

– Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
