Join our Manchester based technology team in a role that will allow you to both apply and grow your skills as a Senior Microsoft Data Engineer through the delivery of data insights to all areas of our business.

Our operations are of a scale that will provide you with material data and technology solution challenges whilst allowing you to rapidly see the impact of the work that you do.

We have a challenging programme of BI work to progress over the next 18 months as we continue to expand the data on the platform and work with business leads to deliver new data insights. Join us and help to make Britain a safer place.

What will you be doing?

You will deliver data insights to all areas of our business. These insights are critical to the growth of our business as well as the delivery of operational efficiencies and new client services. In addition, you will:

* Develop and implement BI and reporting solutions using the latest Azure technologies;

* Work with system and business owners to identify and address data quality issues;

* Create and monitor monthly reporting packs; and

* Identify new ways to exploit Azure data intelligence capabilities to deliver business value.

What are we looking for?

If you want to join us as a Microsoft Data Engineer, this is the experience and knowledge you’ll need to have:

* Expert knowledge in T-SQL;

* Good proficiency in the use of Microsoft BI tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)

* Report development in Microsoft Power BI;

* Knowledge of modern data warehouse technologies and services in Azure such as Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure SQL Database and Azure Analysis Services

We are looking for someone who is both highly effective and innovative in the delivery of data and analytic solutions.

What technology do we use?

Our strategic BI platform is Microsoft Azure and we employ many of the latest Azure analytics and PaaS services. Our MI team not only supports the delivery of traditional MI to our business but will also drive the increasing use of data and advanced analytics as a value-add service for our customers.

Our overall technology landscape is Microsoft centric with our core systems of Dynamics 365 (CRM), NAV and Office 365 integrated with a range of in-house developed Azure deployed services and portals, and a Windows based mobile platform for our 400 strong team of field-based engineers.
