Viking have an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master to join our team where you will be based in either Milton Keynes or Leicester (2 days working from home). You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis (40 hours per week) and in return, you will receive an excellent salary and benefits package.

About the Scrum Master role:

As our Scrum Master, you will promote the successful implementation of Agile frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban to ensure the constant delivery of high-quality software. You will coach the business and delivery teams on the relevant techniques used in each framework, and assist the delivery teams with resolving impediments, and regularly facilitate sessions to help the teams identify areas for improvement.

Your responsibilities as our Scrum Master will include:

Be an Agile expert and champion Agile best practices 

Assist the Product Owner with backlog prioritization techniques

Ensure the relevant ceremonies / meetings / events take place

Teach Scrum and Kanban practices and principles to any parties requiring this

Protect the team from outside distractions to ensure value delivery

Facilitate clear communication between the team, Product Owner and stakeholders

Remove any impediments that prevent the team from delivering value

Ensure the team’s progress is clearly visible to all stakeholders

Be respectful of all disciplines and promote a unified team atmosphere

What we’re looking for in our Scrum Master:

Professional Scrum Master (PSM 1) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Kanban Systems Improvement (KSI) and Kanban System Design (KSD) are desirable

Strong understanding of the software development life cycle

Proven track record as a Scrum Master for multiple teams with exposure to Kanban and traditional projects

Proven track record as a Scrum Master for local, remote and part-remote agile teams.

An understanding of processes used to manage risk

Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Professional Scrum Facilitation Skills (PSFS) desirable

Excellent coaching and mentoring skills on agile methodologies and continuous improvement

The ability to switch gears seamlessly between methodologies

Experience with agile metrics and collaboration tools such as Jira, Mural, or similar

Can foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement

A passion for nurturing high-performing teams and promoting an agile mindset across organisations

The ability to continuously improve our agile processes, resolve impediments and drive efficiency and effectiveness

Have fluent knowledge of spoken and written English
