JOB TITLE: Network Engineer

SALARY: £35,000 – £40,000

BENEFITS: 32 days holiday (including bank holidays), Private medical Insurance, Pension Scheme + More
LOCATION: Cambridge / Hybrid (2 days in 3 days at home)

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer to join an existing team of engineers. The role of the Network Engineer is to help maintain and support both our internal and customers network infrastructure and services. The role sits within the ISP & 3rd Line Technical Support team who are primarily responsible for the management, operation and support of our network systems and equipment, responding to incidents and events either reported by the customer or through our monitoring and event management systems.

JOB SPECIFICATION: Network Engineer
You will provide 3rd line escalated support to our Network clients, remotely and on-site as well as diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.

Review and respond to event and incident data and alerts.
Mentor the 2nd line support functions, continuously increasing their capability.
Take ownership of customer issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
Provide clear and prompt communication with clients and internally.
Ensure all issues in the ticketing system are kept up to date with latest troubleshooting activity and status.
Create and maintain network documentation, Knowledge Base articles and Work Instructions.
Participate in out-of-hours on-call rota and respond to high priority incidents.
Work closely with the ITSM team to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
REQUIREMENTS: Network Engineer

Ideally you will possess excellent networking knowledge, preferably possessing relevant desirable qualification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIP, etc. Also have extensive experience configuring and supporting networking infrastructure including routers and switches

–             Experience of configuring and troubleshooting firewalls such as Cisco ASA & Firepower

–             Demonstrable experience with QoS solutions and traffic shaping

–             Demonstrable experience with Remote Access and Site-to-Site VPNs

–             An understanding of MPLS/BGP core networking and associated technologies.

–             Mikrotik, Cisco and/or Juniper knowledge

–             VoIP experience

–             Knowledge and understanding of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

–             Ability to work flexible hours to deal with priority incidents

–             Flexibility to travel UK wide with occasional overnight travel

–             Full UK Driving license
