IT Support Technician

Permanent Position

Monday-Thursday, 7:30am-4pm, Friday, 7:30am-1pm

Competitive salary +6% pension, 25 days holiday + bank holidays and other benefits

My client is a large and growing engineering organisation. They manufacture high-precision, safety critical components for a number of leading international companies, across 50 countries. They are looking for a hard-working and motivated IT Support Technician to join the team and offer excellent training and development opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a form of IT qualification (Degree, HNC/HND, Microsoft certification) as well as some experience providing IT Support. The client may also consider a fresh IT graduate looking to take their first step into the IT world.

Job Description

Provide end-user support, which involves helping to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues on all systems
Set up, configuration & Installation of PC’s and related IT equipment & Mobile phones, and secure decommissioning of IT Equipment
Server and user administration
Implement and maintain File and User security, permissions, and Antivirus tools in line with company security policies and best practice
Monitor & Update Systems Helpdesk, provide and document solutions
Create system specifications and end user documentation
Liaise with third party suppliers to provide additional external support and services
Develop, document, maintain audit policies and procedures for system administration and appropriate use of company systems in line with group and audit requirements 

IT Support Technician

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Previous experience working within a similar IT Support position OR some form of IT qualification (HNC/HND, Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, Microsoft Certification)
Hard-working, motivated and open to learning new things 

IT Support Technician

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Exposure to Windows Server and desktop systems (Windows 10) and Active Directory
Experience and knowledge of IT policies and standards
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
