29 Bedford Row is one of the leading Family Law sets in the Country with 62 barristers and 11 members of staff.
They are seeking an IT Support Technician to work as part of their Administration team. You will report into the Senior Clerk and the IT Committee. This new IT role is critical for ensuring the business and its users receive a consistently high-quality IT support service.
29 Bedford Row currently uses Office 365, the Opus 2 ‘LEX’ diary system and other applications. The back-end infrastructure is managed and supported by a specialist legal-sector IT provider who also gives (mainly) telephone based first line user support.
DUTIES INCLUDE
* Providing technical support in person and remotely via the telephone and other remote contact methods to troubleshoot & support workstation, laptop, printer, mobile device, operating system, software & user education issues
* Escalate and manage problems/business continuity events as appropriate to the third-party provider, senior colleagues, and management
* Document and record recurring issues and evolving best practices
* Perform regular system health checks to ensure continuous system operation and availability
* Monitoring device managament dashboards, proactively responding to device compliance issues.
* Implementing security best practices for barristers and staff.
* Pro-actively seek out & resolve issues by liaising & engaging with barristers and staff
* Maintain and manage AV Systems in chambers
WHO AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
You will work confidently in a very fast-paced environment, which requires a flexible approach. This role will suit someone with a positive outlook, can-do attitude, and an evident passion for excellent customer service.
You will need proven experience working within a service desk, a sound technical grounding, including a good understanding of networking principles and Microsoft server and desktop environments. Experience of MacBook use in an MS Exchange environment will be an advantage
The key criteria for the ideal candidate will include:
* Experience supporting Windows based devices, including both desk-based PC and laptops, tablets, and smartphones as well as a growing number of BYO MacBook users in a fully BYPD environment.
* Experience and technical knowledge of Office 365 Azure cybersecurity best practice and both Windows and Mac operating systems
* Experience working with internal and external resources to achieve consistently excellent service levels
* Basic networking skills
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, especially comfortable with non-technical lawyers
* An organised and methodical approach to problem solving
* Awareness of the importance of adherence to IT and information security policies, procedures, and evolving best practice.
* A proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated worker.
