My client is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their dynamic and growing team.
A technical role, focusing on 2nd and 3rd Line support and IT Applications, whilst assisting with project management and maintaining all aspects of the on-site Network, onsite & cloud Servers and Appliances across multiple sites in the UK.
The position is a broad role that requires breadth of knowledge across a spectrum of IT. Some areas of expertise will be stronger than others, but it is having the ability and desire to build on the less experienced areas. Ideally as a foundation you will have good to strong programming skills and have had exposure to either a server or networking positions if not both. The role is ideal for someone who is experienced and established within their career and would like to keep the systems running and mentor others while still expanding their own technical knowledge.
Administer all User Security, Access control, AD Permissions, SQL coding to run reports from various system
Azure, Intune, O365, Teams support and configuration
Administer and work with 3rd party to support our IFS (ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning) system management (cloud based), and ensure the system is patched up to date and run various
Manage our daily server backups, systems monitoring, capacity planning, monthly patching and updates
Create and deploy backup strategies when required as part of BC and DR plans
Manage the telephone system and work with 3rd parties to rectify any faults / issues
Assist with refreshing our existing infrastructure (SAN, Firewalls, Switches, VM hosts, VPNs)
Assist the team with creating an Image and updates process in line with standards such as NCSC guidance, for Mobile devices, Laptops, and desktops for our IT technicians to follow.
Be 2/3rd line support for a very capable self-sufficient IT competent workforce
Help Undertake network configuration and fault diagnose with 3rd party outsourced network team
5+ years' experience in similar role
IT degree or IT base qualifications ITIL, MCSE, CCNA etc
Be able to create and run query SQL scripts to generate specific output reports,
Exchange, Azure, O365 support, also strong deployment knowledge
Experience in server support, with virtualisation applications such as VMware, vSphere
Full driving license as occasional site travel is required
Administrating Microsoft Server Platforms (Apply online only) onsite and in cloud environments
Exposure to CRM, ERP cloud system experience preferably IFS, Salesforce knowledge or workings with their support teams
Microsoft AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO/Certificate Services/WDS/WSUS/SMTP services/Intune/SCCM
Project management (Prince)
Solid networking skills in a Microsoft environment and all aspects of network security
VMWare & VSphere v5.0 experience, creating virtual machines, configuring resource and load balancing
Veeam Backup Solutions and Tape System or equivalent
O365 Administration and Services – tenancy seating and configuring
Dell server, SAN, Network, cloud storage concepts
Experience with BCMDR planning and test execution understanding RPO and RTO
Have some exposure to IT Security, or be aware of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, NIST,
Strong virtualisation skills, migrating onsite server data into cloud environments whether it be Azure or another provider.
Ideally has manage an O365 deployment or part of a team and be familiar with O365 console and seating
Have managed / configured / deployed a site wide rollout (user devices, infrastructure, printers, telephone systems etc)
Ideally worked in manufacturing, logistics or engineering environment but not essential
Experience of been part of the ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials process, understanding the current requirements and best workingPlease be mindful that this is essentially a shopping list, we are seeking someone who has a well rounded IT career up until now and is willing to graft and make this role their own
