Job Description

Position Title: IT Support Engineer
Duration: Permanent
Location: Warwick

Working with a leading international automotive engineering business you will be supporting multiple offices and over 900 employees between the West Midlands & Essex. As the successful IT Support Engineer you will be required to support the helpdesk and respond to enquires and problem solve, you must posses exceptional communication skills as you will be speaking with clients and customers daily. * The position will provide effective IT assistance across all aspects of the business and will provide back up and support to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer.
* The post holder is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems, and Microsoft Exchange environment plus general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software.
* The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities within the Company, co-located across multiple sites, one based in Warwick and the others in Basildon, Munich and Koln.

Key Accountabilities
* Review systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, integration of multiple systems and technology and that 'Secure by Design' principles have been followed.
* Support IT department in the implementation, administration and support of infrastructure solutions and services.
* Troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities including compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software and cloud.
* Identify the correct procedures and appropriate channels for resolution and monitor resolution activities and progress updates to users.
* Establish standards and procedures across a service lifecycle including the development lifecycle and ensure that practitioners adhere to this.
* Support all Infrastructure Strategies, implementations and Support
* Development of on-going IT strategies to support the demands of the business Information Security Maintains the security, confidentiality and integrity of information systems
* General IT Administration across all systems
* System Backups

Skills / Abilities
* Technical competence in the following areas:
* Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services
* Azure Active Directory Connect, Azure WVD
* DNS, DHCP, PowerShell
* Firewalls, Routers and Switches (TCP / IP, Wi-Fi, VLANS, WLAN, VPLS, MPLS)
* Virtualisation platform (Hyper-V)
* Windows Server 2003/2008/2008R2/2012/2016/SBS
* SAN Technologies (Synology, Dell EqualLogic)
* Windows Client, 7 onwards
* Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, Office 365
* VOIP Telephone Systems (ideally Mitel, Skype for Business)
* Experience of firewalls,
* Backup Solutions (Symantec, Acronis)
* Knowledge of CAD Software an advantage

Requirements
* Mast be able to work without any visa support

You will be currently working within a similar IT support / helpdesk position
* Working within a team
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to work offsite on client locations
* Familiar with operating Technical Help Desk
