FINTEC recruit is supporting recruitment for a permanent role for an IT Support Engineer within the education sector.  This is a permanent position with salary up to circa £35,000 plus benefits, working Monday to Friday 38.75 hours per week, overtime available to meet business needs.  Based in Edinburgh city, this is an office based position providing 1st and  2nd line IT support for internal staff within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support

To lead and support projects within the IT portfolio for the organisation

Develop, test, install and configure a range of IT issues relating to hardware, software, networking and audio-visual equipment

Supporting for Microsoft Server operating systems and deployment technologies

Manage cloud hosting systems such as AWS and Azure

Skills and Experience for the IT support position:

Qualification in an IT related subject, Degree desirable or by experience

Experience of working in a busy-customer focused environment

Experience supporting a mixed environment of Windows (Microsoft, Mac,Linux, end user devices and systems

ITIL foundation and Microsoft and/or Apple qualification – desirable

Have a working knowledge of Google Apps and experience of administering database and /or MIS systems eg (MS SQL, MySQL, PASS etc) is desirable

Desirable to have experience of deployment technologies and system management solutions, such as Jamf, SCCM, Autopilot, SCOM,  etc.
