IT Architect – DDaT (Digital, Data & Technology) – Staffordshire

This is an exciting opportunity within a government organisation who are seeking an accomplished Architect to join a world class architecture team and play a key role in shaping their technology landscape.

While the organisation currently operates a predominantly on-premises infrastructure, Microsoft Cloud adoption and transformation form a major part of its future technology strategy.

The client seeks an all-round Infrastructure Architect with proven experience producing High Level Design (HLD) and Technical Design Authority (TDA) documentation, combined with strong Microsoft technology expertise including Microsoft Azure, SharePoint, OneDrive and Network Infrastructure solutions.

The Role:

As part of the Architecture Team, you will provide strategic and technical architecture leadership across a diverse technology estate covering:

Microsoft Azure and Cloud Services
SharePoint & OneDrive
Microsoft Security, Entra ID and Azure AD
Infrastructure & Virtualisation
Networking & Communications
Applications & Software Integration
Databases & Data Services
Mobile & Remote Technologies
Network Security & Cyber Security SolutionsYou will work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams and technical specialists to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose, secure, scalable and aligned with the client's long-term technology strategy.

Required Experience:

To be considered, candidates must demonstrate proven experience within an Architecture function and be able to evidence successful delivery of architectural outputs including HLD's (High Level Design) and technical solution designs.

Key Skills Include:

IT Architecture, Solution Architecture or Infrastructure Architecture
HLD (High-Level Design) and Technical Design Authority (TDA)
Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 / Office 365, SharePoint & OneDrive
Microsoft Security Technologies, Entra ID / Azure Active Directory
Infrastructure & Virtualisation Technologies
Application and Systems Integration
Network Architecture & Security, Cisco, HP and enterprise networking environments
Security, Firewalls, Threat & Vulnerability ManagementExperience across software development, databases, remote device management and enterprise infrastructure environments would be highly advantageous.

Additional Information:

Please note that successful applicants will be required to obtain NPPV Level 3 (Non-Police Personnel Vetting) and

Management Vetting prior to commencing employment.

As part of the interview process, candidates will be expected to demonstrate their architectural experience and approach through a presentation and technical discussion.

Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco or VMware would be beneficial, although not essential.
