Position:  Infrastructure Engineer

Suitable for:  IT Engineer or Technical Support Engineer with experience of Azure, Networking and Windows Server Technologies

Location:  Milton Keynes. This role is office based, requiring at least 3 days a week in the office, up to 5 days a week at the beginning for inductions.

Salary:  to £36k + bens

Hours:  37.5 hours per week with participation in the following rotas with commitment to work outside of these hours if required:

– Office-Cover Rota, between 08:00 and 18:00 

– On-Call Rota, between 18:00 and 08:00

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Infrastructure Engineer will work alongside specialists within the team, taking responsibility for all aspects of the corporate infrastructure upon which the organisation operates, with the opportunity to be involved in new and emerging projects from their inception. 

The Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with the numerous departments, ensuring that the comprehensive support service is maintained and therefore sustaining the strong inter-departmental relationships that have been forged to date.

The successful Infrastructure Engineer will be provided with on-the-job training for all supported Platforms, Operating Systems etc., but is expected to have prior experience of Microsoft Azure, Networking and Windows Server Technologies. Access to key learning resources will also be made available to the successful candidate, via our well-established Microsoft Partnership.

Essential:

Minimum of three years’ experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, IT Engineer or similar

Windows Server Platform System Administration

Microsoft Intune Management & Administration

Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS)

Experience of Virtualisation Technologies (including Hyper-V)

Experience of Networking Concepts, Topologies and Maintenance, with focus on Cisco technologies

Experience of Service Monitoring and Alerting

Experience of routine Infrastructure Upgrades and Application Patching

Excellent:

Demonstrable Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills

Documentation Skills, producing guides and supporting knowledgebase articles

Organisational Skills, with the ability to manage personal workloads in accordance with agreed timescales, whilst working under pressure

Ability to explain technical concepts to key stakeholders of all levels

Experience of Service Desk Systems 

Experience of Third-Party issue management and resolution coordination

Ivanti Security Essentials (Patch Management)

BeyondTrust Privileged Access Management

Mimecast E-Mail Security Management

Basic SQL Server administration

Windows Failover Cluster Management

Windows PowerShell Administration / Scripting skills

Knowledge of Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) compliance

Knowledge of ITIL Foundation principles and application

Knowledge of ISO27001, ISO27018 and ISO9001 Certification

Relevant Vendor certifications

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for:

Provide first-class advice and support to Employees and extended partners

Management and Pro-Active Monitoring of our corporate infrastructure

Management and Support of Microsoft Intune & Endpoint Management for devices and applications

Management and Support of network components for all Managed Service Platforms

Implementation of Application Patching and System Upgrades

Adherence to Company & Team Policies and Working Practices
