Infrastructure Engineer
3-month initial contract
£240 per day
Hybrid/Remote/onsite in Chester
The Infrastructure Engineer is entrusted with the oversight, maintenance, support, and development of the server and storage infrastructure within the organisation. This role requires a deep understanding of technical infrastructure, adherence to security protocols, and the ability to manage complex systems efficiently. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust's server and storage environment meets current needs while strategising for future requirements, all while maintaining alignment with local and national guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and oversee the day-to-day management and personal development initiatives for the Infrastructure Support Team.
* Manage the resolution of highly complex IT infrastructure system issues promptly to ensure 24/7 availability and optimal performance.
* Prioritise and resolve complex issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring efficient delivery.
Technical & System Monitoring Responsibilities:
* Assume responsibility for all IT server and storage infrastructure within the Trust.
* Design, develop, implement, and maintain server and storage integrated solutions across the Trust.
* Proactively monitor and manage server and storage systems to identify trends and address user, network, and security issues promptly.
* Produce technical plans and documentation as required.
* Provide expert advice and support to team members, Informatics staff, customers, and third-party organisations.
* Install and configure systems within the designated area of responsibility, ensuring proper documentation and adjustment of support and monitoring systems.
Skill Requirements:
* Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS & DHCP, Certificates, Security (AV and GPO), and Backup & Restore applications and methodologies.
* Advanced understanding and experience with SAN technologies and virtualization platforms.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications for effective communication and documentation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of service delivery and infrastructure systems technologies to ensure efficient operations.
* Demonstrated experience in project management throughout the full life-cycle of major IT projects.
* Significant experience in a similar role, preferably within the NHS or other public sector organisations, understanding the unique challenges and requirements of the healthcare sector.
* Proven ability to investigate and analyse complex technical problems and recommend appropriate and effective solutions to ensure seamless operations.
Contract Details:
This is an inside IR35 contract role, offering competitive remuneration of approximately £240 per day via an Umbrella company.
