Business Development Manager – IT Managed Services

Kent ( Remote / 1 day a month in the office)

Up to £70k DOE + Uncapped Commission

Monday to Friday 8.45 – 17.15

MUST HAVE experience of Business Development in a MSP environment

Established for over 30 years, our client is a market-leading MSP specialising in platform hosting, network infrastructure, data centre and business continuity services for small, medium and large enterprises, public sector and Education organisations, as well as other service providers.

Due to company growth they are now looking to expand the Sales Team with a dedicated new Business Development Manager. This is a new business focussed role with some account management responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated sales professional with experience in Business Development in an MSP environment. They will also have the drive and ability to close new business and exceed sales targets in a business-to-business environment, with an enthusiastic can-do attitude and a belief that anything can be achieved.

Main duties:

* Generate new business through direct prospecting and networking techniques

* Develop a sustained pipeline of accounts

* E.G: via cold calls and marketing lead follow up

* Contact and connect with potential clients to build and nurture relationships

* Attend onsite and virtual conferences, meetings and industry events

* Undertake networking, email and phone campaigns

* Be able to understand existing and prospective customer requirements

* Engage in exciting internal and external sales and develop a fit for purpose solution with commercial awareness

* Take new opportunities and maximise revenue and opportunity

* Generating accurate and timely quotations/proposals for new clients

* Following up on quotations and proposals to generate business and revenue

The ideal candidate:

* 3 years of B2B sales experience selling a variety of Managed Services

* Have a proven track record in achieving sales targets and generating new business

* Must be sales-focused with the ability to self-manage

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise workload and active pipelines

* A positive attitude and can-do approach

* Have a passion for keeping up to date with the latest services, technologies and market trends and knowledge

* Be able to relay information that is understood on a basic level by technical and non-technical individuals

Essential requirements:

* Experience within an MSP environment

* Strong industry knowledge in IT Managed Services including IT Support, Cloud, Backup, Security, Connectivity and VoIP solutions

* Proficient knowledge in Microsoft licensing (E.G: Volume, SPLA, M365 & Office 365)

* A good understanding of Backup and DR technologies, including Business Continuity

* A good understanding of Cyber Security technologies and Data Protection policies

* Good commercial awareness and understanding of business needs from SME’s to Enterprise levels

Desirable:

* Microsoft 365 Fundamentals – Certified

* Azure 365 Fundamental – Certified

* WatchGuard Security Sales Specialists – Certified

Additional information:

The role may require extended or unsocial hours occasionally

Successful candidates will be subject to disclosure checks

A full driving license, your own transportation, and a willingness to travel are required
