We're looking for outstanding Senior DevOps Engineers to develop, build and maintain our flagship service, Universal Credit and our Working Age Benefits.

Our DevOps Engineers build our products and applications – with researchers, testers, architects, analysts and designers – as part of multi-functional agile delivery teams.

We are extending our already skilled and creative DevOps team. You will be a leader in our team, you will coach and mentor DevOps Engineers.

You'll also be part of a supportive Engineering community of practice, with hundreds of engineering experts from across the UK united by passion and purpose. We'll give you the tools and time to build your capability, with coaching, mentoring, qualifications and formal learning, meet-ups or whatever else works for you.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Significant demonstrable experience of working in a DevOps environment – Continuous Integration & Deployment, Delivery methods and techniques, including agile.
Experience of working and leading in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific time-scales and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
Significant demonstrable experience of designing, implementing and supporting Unix/Linux based platforms and using developing solutions using scripting languages.
Significant demonstrable experience of developing and supporting cloud-based applications in AWS.
Significant demonstrable knowledge of implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Gitlab CI.
Significant demonstratable experience in designing and implementing best practices using IaC tools such as Terraform, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus & Grafana.

You will join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work and collaborate flexibly.

We work a hybrid model with some time at home and some time in a hub with the team.

We offer competitive pay of up to £78,517.

You will be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over £15,000 per year.
