SAP Solution Architect – Contract Role (Public Sector ERP Programme)

Location: LONDON
Type: Contract
Duration: [ 6–12 months initial contract, with potential extension]
Day Rate: £700 per day (inside IR35)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to support the delivery and continuous improvement of our SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors implementation within a leading local authority.
This is a key role ensuring the stability, scalability, and compliance of SAP solutions across Finance, HR, Payroll, and Procurement.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

*

Define, design, and maintain the SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors architecture.

*

Lead integration and blueprinting across Finance, HR, Payroll, and Procurement (Purchase-to-Pay) functions.

Solution Design

*

Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose, scalable SAP SaaS solutions.

*

Oversee configuration documentation, delta design decisions, and technical alignment.

Data & Integration

*

Develop and support data migration strategies, ensuring accuracy and minimal disruption during cutover.

*

Ensure seamless integration between SAP, legacy systems, and external platforms.

Security & Compliance

*

Implement role-based access controls and ensure ongoing compliance with data protection and governance standards.

*

Manage segregation of sensitive data across systems.

Testing & Quality Assurance

*

Contribute to the test strategy and oversee technical validation (SIT, UAT, Payroll Parallel Run).

*

Ensure solutions meet performance, quality, and audit requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

*

Work closely with internal teams, external system implementers, and governance forums.

*

Provide expert architectural input for change control and reporting capability enhancements.

Skills & Experience Required

*

Proven track record delivering SAP S/4HANA and SuccessFactors solutions.

*

Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, cloud integration, and data migration principles.

*

Hands-on experience with SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery.

*

Prior experience working on public sector ERP programmes (highly desirable).

*

Relevant SAP certifications (e.g. Technology Associate, Solution Architect) preferred.
