Full Time Antrim County Antrim IT Job Pro UK

Software Security Engineer (£40k – £50k) – Antrim with remote working options

This local company gained success because of one simple belief; everyone has the right to understand and be understood.

An idea that led them to become the global leader in literacy and accessibility technology.

But they were not the only company to share this belief.

A European group also develops and provides assistive technology to individuals with reading and writing disabilities.

Now from the 8th of March, these two giants in educational software have merged to become one.

This deal will enable both companies to bring their products to a wider audience around the world while helping more students benefit from their software.

When these deals take place, it brings new jobs and new opportunities, and they need a Software Security Engineer for the group who will report directly to the CTO.

The Job

You’ll take responsibility for company software security processes, including bug bounty programme, secure code reviews & static code analysis.

You’ll get the chance to learn new skills, deliver internal and organize external security training for staff, and eventually build your own security team.

You’ll organise and report on external penetration tests and conduct internal security audits.

To do this job effectively, you’ll be given a lot of autonomy in the role.  You will be able to introduce the tools that you think will be most suitable.  You will also be given a budget to manage so that you can introduce these tools quickly and effectively.

Skills and experience

You will be an experienced software engineer who has at least 2 years of experience working in software security.  You will have demonstrable experience in security vulnerability identification and remediation.  You will have experience in automated security testing tools.  The company currently uses Tenable, OWASP ZAP, SonarQube and Burp Suite, but you will be able to introduce other tools that you see fit.

It is important that you are strong in at least one software development language: JavaScript, Java, and/or .NET technologies.  Understanding of top OWASP vulnerabilities is key.
