Our client has an exciting opportunity for a talented and collaborative Development Manager to join an inclusive team in Edinburgh. Working in a hybrid capacity at home, the office, or any other relevant location, this permanent Development Manager role comes with a salary of up to £75k and excellent benefits.This position can be primarily remote, with occasional trips to the Edinburgh office (May consider fully remote for the right candidate)

Reporting to the Head of Technology Solutions (Retail), the Development Manager will oversee the planning, development and implementation of technology solutions within the organisation.

Lead, mentor and inspire a small team of software developers to achieve their full potential
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
Conduct monthly documented 1:1 reviews with your team focused on wellbeing, HR matters, delivery of assigned projects/activities and development needs
Allocate resources effectively, ensuring team members have the necessary tools, training and support.
To apply for this Development Manager role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:
5+ years of experience in software development or a related technical role
Experience leading and managing software development teams.
Skills & experience
An experienced and technically excellent technology manager, with proven experience in leading and managing software development teams.
A manager who can clearly communicate and engage business and IT professionals alike.
5+ years of experience in software development
Technical experience in either PS/SQL, SQL, C#, ASP.NET, and MVC.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices
Proven track record for being:
Respected as a manager
Influential in the organisation and a team player
Driven and results orientated
Effective at driving short-term actions that are consistent with long-term goals
Experience of technical project management
Experience of application support processes and 3rd party application support management.
Minimum of Degree level – Extensive industry experience, in lieu of degree, will be considered
