Role: Senior IT Engineer

Location: East Midlands Airport

Hours: 06:30-18:30, 18:30-06:30 4 on 4 off pattern

Duration: Ongoing

Salary: c£28,500

Role of a Senior IT Engineer

To provide first line hardware and software technical support to all users
Perform all IT housekeeping tasks as per work instructions
Liaise with other internal entities for support and service requests when required
Ensure that all IT calls and jobs are completed and recorded in accordance with work instructions and internal SLA's
Provide proactive incident management by monitoring background processes, communication links and devices for errors
Ensure that all shift and backup logs are correctly maintained and that all documentation is kept up to date
Ordering and maintaining IT hardware and consumables

Knowledge / Experience

Incident Management and Escalation
AS400, Active Directory, Citrix and Windows 10
Linux (beneficial but not essential)
Microsoft Office products
Remote Desktop Technology
Server administration
VMWare administration
LAN, WAN & WLAN
Firewall concepts
File Backup/Restore procedures.
Second line support experience in an IT support environment

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Excellent proven trouble shooting skills
Analytical & Logical approach
Problem Solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure
IT Literate
Have a proactive mind set, and a positive can do approach to business support
Proven IT business support in a fast paced business environment
