Senior Backend Software Engineer | London | Hybrid | £85,000 – £90,000 |

Hexwired Recruitment is partnered with an industry-leading energy technology company developing advanced software solutions that are helping drive the transition toward a more sustainable and flexible energy future.

You’ll join a cross-functional agile team building scalable backend systems used to optimise energy storage, automate energy trading, and process high-frequency real-time telemetry data across large-scale infrastructure environments.

Key responsibilities include:

* Designing and developing backend services and distributed systems

* Building scalable cloud-native applications and event-driven architectures

* Working with high-volume telemetry and operational data

* Supporting low-level control and dispatch systems

* Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and technical best practices

* Collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders

Tech stack includes:

* Go

* PostgreSQL

* AWS

* Pulsar

* GitLab CI/CD

What they’re looking for:

* Strong experience with Go and backend software engineering

* Cloud-native development experience (AWS, microservices, CI/CD)

* Knowledge of distributed systems, databases, and event-driven architecture

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills

* Comfortable working within fast-paced, evolving technical environments
