QA Test Lead – Remote – (QA, Testing, Lead, Test Plans, Workflows)

Charles Simon associates are looking for a QA Test Lead to establish and mature an internal testing capability across several business‑critical platforms. If you enjoy shaping process, mentoring testers, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver robust, well‑tested products, this could be a great fit.

Location: Remote (UK-based)
Salary: Up to £65,000 Per Annum D.O.E

The Opportunity

You’ll own the test strategy and hands-on manual testing across multiple applications, introducing scalable QA practices in a modern Agile delivery environment. You’ll collaborate with engineering, product and delivery stakeholders, mentoring a small team and raising quality standards across the SDLC.

What You’ll Do

* Define and implement test strategies, processes, and quality standards across key systems

* Lead and mentor a small QA team (coaching, reviews, upskilling)

* Create and maintain test plans, test cases and regression packs

* Manage defect tracking and triage (Jira) and drive clear, actionable feedback

* Perform hands-on manual testing for new features, integrations, and releases

* Partner with developers, product managers and delivery to embed quality throughout sprints and releases

* Identify opportunities to increase coverage, reduce cycle time, and improve consistency via sensible tooling and practices

What You’ll Bring

* Proven background as QA Lead / Test Lead / Senior Tester in Agile teams

* Strong manual testing skills across complex, multi‑step business workflows

* Experience mentoring/guiding other testers and raising quality standards

* Solid knowledge of test design, defect management, and release readiness

* Clear communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

* (Nice to have) Experience testing workflow‑driven platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, case/claims‑style or other configurable process‑heavy systems)

* (Nice to have) Exposure to test management and reporting tooling beyond Jira (e.g., Zephyr, Xray, TestRail)
