Position: Network Engineer
Location: Dublin
Salary: €65-75,000

Job Description: My client is seeking a Network Engineer with experience of working in managed services to join their team. You will be involved in managing a variety of network technologies in a busy managed services environment, catering to diverse customers. You will need strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Your primary duties will consist of routing/switching, firewall, VoIP, and Network support.

Responsibilities:

Play a key role in supporting IT infrastructure, networks, and security.

Support, configure, and install network security devices, primarily Sonicwall and Fortinet.

Maintain and enhance documentation of customer network environments.

Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.

Coordinate with vendors and other IT teams for issue resolution.

Implement network infrastructures and ensure their functionality.

Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, and security configurations.

Adhere to established configuration and change management policies for successful network infrastructure changes.

Requirements:

IT Degree or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.

Previous experience in supporting Network Routing, Switching, and Security.

Knowledge in areas such as logging, network access control, Sonicwall or Fortinet routing and switching, VPN, and firewall configuration.

Experience in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.

Familiarity with storage/backup best practices, hardware, and operating systems.

Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, with excellent hardware troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to stakeholders at different levels, including both technical and non-technical individuals, and those at end-user and senior management levels.

This is a full-time permanent position in a hybrid working environment (3 days on site per week). The salary range is €65,000 to €75,000 dependent on experience
