We're seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a dynamic IT team, responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of internal voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
In this role, you'll play a key part in the design, planning, and development of both local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. You'll also be involved in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network infrastructure-covering both hardware and software, as well as communication systems.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with department heads to assess current and future network capacity needs
* Design, deploy, and support LAN, WAN, wireless, and VoIP systems, including hardware like routers, switches, and servers
* Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and disaster recovery procedures
* Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth daily operations
* Manage network security, conduct audits, and oversee data backups
* Coordinate upgrades and maintenance of network hardware, software, and end-user devices
* Research and recommend new technologies to improve network efficiency and reliability
* Collaborate with vendors and service providers to secure network solutions
* Support and maintain audio/video systems and telephony infrastructure
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent (e.g. associate degree with 4 years, or 6 years of hands-on experience)
* Strong track record in designing and implementing LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN networks
* Solid experience with network capacity planning, security practices, and general network management
* Hands-on experience with VoIP systems and hardware troubleshooting
* Familiarity with testing tools for data and voice circuits
* Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
* Strong research and problem-solving abilities
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise in fast-paced environments
* Customer-focused with a proactive approach to support and service delivery
