Managing Director – Travel Technology sector

Hybrid working position. Home + offices in Manchester and Reading

£95k – £110K + 50% bonus + attractive benefits

Applause IT are working with this highly successful and longstanding Travel-systems based organisation to find their next Managing Director. This person will be a strong leader and have responsibility for a software company of around 30 people and a £5m turnover, in creating and managing their overall strategy and budgets.

Responsibilities in areas of Leadership, Compliance, Finance and R&D will include:

Creating and revising priority plans, supporting the needs of the business.
Understanding the company's profile and business standing within the wider community and how technical solutions can be applied to meet customer needs.
Leading the team in delivering projects and best solutions.
Developing key stakeholder relationships and identifying commercial opportunities.
Managing third party contracts and leading negotiations
Representing the company within the industry and relevant associations and bodies
Championing the values and culture and holding regular, informed meetings with direct reports
Ensuring compliance to operational processes and procedures
Adhering to HR, Environmental and H&S PoliciesWhat we require from you:

You will be a true leader of people, with a growth mindset, able to the blend strategic and technical growth, in understanding the market and offering and developing sector leading solutions. You will report into a Group Executive and receive excellent support and investment but will have the autonomy to drive growth and make a difference.

Knowledge and skills will include:

A passion for travel-based systems, particularly rail
Proven senior management experience with a successful technology first organisation.
Understanding of finance, EBITDA, and P&L's
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing skills.
High energy with a customer first focus
Ideally working knowledge of GDPR, PCI/DSS and associated legislation
A demonstrable ability to work within an Executive team.In return you will take the helm, as MD, at an attractive, high-profile leading travel technology organisation with much scope for product and customer growth. You will be involved in financial and resource planning, leadership, sales, delivery, strategic implementation, and customer management.

Will suit either an experienced MD or a senior manager looking to take the step up, with an excellent blend of strategic, leadership and technical understanding.
