The main duties?

* Work in our internal software development team to deliver our in-house automation product.

* Collaboratively design, write, and test code (C#).

* Troubleshoot and fix software bugs reported by users.

* Contribute to stand-ups and sprints.

* Communicate with our cloud, infrastructure, and client-facing teams on solutions where the technology overlaps.

* Collaborate with senior developers to design and develop software applications

* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code

* Assist in the deployment and maintenance of applications

* Participate in code reviews to provide feedback and improve code quality

* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends

Must haves:

* C# language experience.

* Basic IT skills (could independently troubleshoot laptop issues, connect to VPNs, etc.)

* Likes project-based learning.

* Enjoys collaborative work.

* Keen problem solver.

* Not too academic but can confidently do own research and knows when to ask for help.

* Understands when to use accessible technology such as ChatGPT (AI) to aid work.

* Experience communicating with customers or non-technical colleagues i.e. can comfortably translate non-technical to technical and vice versa.

Nice to haves:

* Experience with or knowledge of .NET core (C#)

* Experience with or knowledge of WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) and UI architectural patterns (e.g. MVVM)

* Experience with or knowledge of MSSQL (database) experience

* Experience with or knowledge of Docker (containerisation)

* Experience with or knowledge of React/Javascript

* Experience with or knowledge of the software development process (scrum/agile/sprints/standups)

* Experience with or knowledge of CI/CD processes (Continuous integration/continuous deployment, TeamCity, Jenkins)

* Interest in tech news.

The candidate will be part of our internal development team which is currently at 7 people. On a day-to-day basis, you will be part of the Windows application development team which is a subset of that (3 people) but there is a fair amount of crossover with the rest of the internal team and the client-facing side of the business.

Salary: £26,659.00-£31,000.00 per year
