Our client is looking for IT Support Engineer to support their business and IT applications. Due to the nature of business the role is working on the client's site (obeying COVID rules). This is a remote role. The role will mainly be working on Windows Operating Systems at a Server and Desktop level, plus any other IT related Systems. A good knowledge of IT security systems is a great plus. The role will maintain, administrate, and check the Server and Desktop estate so it provides a robust and highly available platform. You will work with the cybersecurity programme, so will need a knowledge and passion for cyber security as wells documenting procedures and policies. The programme includes 3rd party access, patching, AV, MFA, MDM, encryption, traffic filtering, APT.
Supporting and delivering Group-wide projects
Being part of a Group-wide out of hours on-call service on a rota
Undertake day to day operations ensuring that all Incidents, Service Requests, Projects/Work Packages and Site Maintenance work is effectively supported making sure that the impact and disruption on the IT Services are kept to an absolute minimum
Ensure Incident or Service Request/Jobs calls in the Technical Support queue are actioned as per the Service Level Targets
Ensure Server Data Backup/Restores are completed, to ensure that the integrity of the data is maintained, escalating any issues that cannot be resolved
Ensure that processes, policies and procedures are completed as per documentation
Ensure that any Operating System patches are applied as per agreed schedule
Ensure relevant documentation is maintained and completed
Minimize service disruption when implementing projects, maintenance work and dealing with incidentsThe right candidate will have the experience below
Good technical configuration and troubleshooting skills with all Windows operating systems.
Good technical knowledge of desktop, server and network hardware.
Good technical configuration and troubleshooting skills with analogue and IP telephony systems and mobiles.
Good technical configuration and troubleshooting skills with a variety of apps and systems including;o Office 365 – front and back end admin
o General client-side/server troubleshooting
o Active Directory (incl. DNS, DHCP, GPO)
o WSUS and SCCM
o Remote access technologies, e.g. VPN, RDP.
o Virtual servers and hosting
o Networking systems and protocols
o Security systems/software/protocols – AV, MFA, encryption, MDM, filtering, ATP etc.
o Monitoring systems
o Cisco networking and firewalls
o Check Point firewalls
o Anti-virus and cybersecurity systems admin, incl. O365 security, ESET, web filtering, spam filtering, device security.
Experience in a fast-paced environment in a 24/7 365 public service environment is highly desirable but not essential.
Troubleshooting skills, ability to follow logical process to determine fault causes and follow to resolution.
Good organizer, priority driven, and able to multitask to meet service priorities.
Methodical with attention to detail but prepared to adapt to meet customer expectations.
Able to communicate effectively with good customer focus.You must pass the basic security clearance for this role (or have it already).
