£60,397 – £70,640 depending on location
Code Red Associates is working with a long term client of ours in the public sector who are looking to add a Project Manager to oversee the portfolio of business IT projects, monitoring their progress and reporting on the overall portfolio to ensure expectations are managed.
Overall Responsibilities:
Project management of multiple project initiatives and delivery teams.
To plan and manage the delivery of business systems solutions and associated applications within agreed timescales using a recognised project management methodology, and to provide internal customers with business improvement and project management support
To Liaise with business partners to ensure relevant delivery of their projects.
Line management of business secondments through matrix management.Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:
Overseeing the portfolio of business IT projects, monitoring their progress and reporting on the overall portfolio to ensure business expectations are managed
Directly managing specific projects, with responsibility for the matrix management of the resources from both IT and the Business to make sure implementations are both timely and effective.
Provide expertise and leadership in project management methodologies and processes ensuring projects are managed using Prince2 (Practitioner) or other suitable recognised approach, e.g. Agile PM
Providing expert knowledge and support to both internal and external resources to ensure effective and consistent delivery
Work closely with Business Partners to help specify, develop and deliver appropriate systems to the various areas of the business
Attend/contribute/run project boards and/or steering groups to ensure projects are managed with the main business stakeholders in consistent manner.
Ensure risks, issues and dependencies are being recorded, monitored and proactively managed to minimise disruption to successful delivery
Manage and provide guidance to third party project managers engaged to deliver IT business projects
Determine project requirements and identify and secure team members and project resources
Work closely with Suppliers, Business Systems Support Team, Infrastructure Team and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
Ensure completion of deliverables and adherence to timelines
Analyse and resolve issues that have the potential to jeopardise performance and/or ability to meet agreed upon deliverables
Provide change control for scope revisions
Create, maintain, analyse interfaces and critical dependencies. Regularly communicate the project/programme plan and its progress
Provides regular project status report to client and project teams on progress and issues and keeping the wider organisation informed via the intranet
Conduct post-implementation review, comparing requirements / deliverables to results and identifying any follow up actions and lessons learned
Manage the project budget during the programme lifecycle
Manage project communications via various channels including The Hub and Workplace
Manage large teams including developers, Business Analysts/Partners, external suppliers and contractors, business resources, etc
Skills:
Experience of working in the social housing sector and working on large Housing Management Systems such as Northgate, Universal Housing, etc
Demonstrable track record of successful implementation of medium to large scale Technology projects
Previous experience of managing project budgets of up to £1M
Experience of SCRUM, Agile
Qualified Prince 2 Practitioner
Experience of managing project teams through matrix management
Experience of liaising and communicating effectively with both key business stakeholders and IT Business partners.
Experience of working with complex Business systems that should include Housing Management Systems, Property Management or Financial Systems
As a minimum, a working knowledge of information security polices, processes and procedures
Delivered successful cross-functional information technology projects
Working knowledge or experience of:
ICT Governance, assurance and audit, Risk Management, Portfolio Management, IT Systems Procurement, Business Relationship Management, Business Engagement, Demand Management, Programme and Project Management, Programme and Project Execution.
