Job Title: IT Data Analyst

Location: Princess Alexandra Hospital – CM20 1QX

Trust: The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust

Job type & Shift Patterns: Full time, Monday – Friday 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, 37.5 hours a week (Mostly remote working, 1-2 visits per month to Harlow at Princess Alexandra Hospital)

Duration: 2-3 Months Contract (Subject to review, after 2-3 months the role is going permanent)

Pay rate: £19.10/Hr.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general acute, outpatient and diagnostic services in or around Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, and Epping. Located along the M11 corridor on the edges of London, with Stansted airport nearby, there are a range of good leisure, education and shopping facilities, as well as plenty of green space criss-crossed with a network of award-winning cycleways. Excellent transport links to London and Cambridge, including a tube station in Epping, provide easy access to city life. PAHT also has an on-site nursery and a preferential car leasing scheme.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary:

Main duties of the job This post holder will work in the various Department and will work on the extraction and de-identification of data from the systems for use in enhanced governance and system improvements with patient demand flow. The post holder will be responsible for working with the management and clinical team to identify the datasets needed, project manage requests through the necessary approvals processes and extract the required datasets from Trust systems, ensuring all data is de-identified prior to use for the required purposes.

Responsibilities:

* To work with Management team and lead clinicians and other partners to identify datasets required to execute service improvement projects, providing a high quality of customer service with real time data tracking composition of required reports, data cleansing and continued cross correlation of patient flow.

* To work with colleagues in Informatics and Information Performance team to ensure that all necessary approvals are received for the release of the required datasets.

* To extract and provide the required information from a range of databases to management teams in a timely manner for use in projects, supporting the Trusts ambitions to be a leader in providing high-quality, comprehensive datasets which can be used to advance patient care through research.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

* IT Tools: SQL Server, Excel, Access, statistical packages, PowerBI Stack (SSRS,SSAS,SSIS), and trust management & reporting systems.

* Appreciation of and compliance with the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information and Caldicott.

* Experience of working within the NHS.

* Experience of MS SQL Server and Business Intelligence Stack such as SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.

* Abides by the Trust policy on standards of business conduct.

* Committed to continuous active personal development involving formal training and personal study.

* Innovative and adaptable to changing priorities.

* Works to a high degree of accuracy within tight deadlines.

* Develops effective working relationships with all professional contacts in all disciplines.

* An effective communicator able to convey highly complex concepts and data to staff at all levels, ensuring its accurate and effective use.

*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
