Interaction Designer

Manchester (Hybrid)

£70,000 + Benefits

Interaction Designer needed with strong Government Digital Services (GDS) experience for a permanent position in Manchester (Hybrid). Start ideally in Feb/March 2026.

A chance to work with a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government digital modernisation projects.

Hybrid Working – 3-4 days/week remote (WFH), and 1-2 days/week working on-site from the Manchester office.

Benefits include: Salary to £70,000 (DOE) + Hybrid + Bonus + Pension + 22 days holiday + BHs (rising to 25 days) + Death in Service + Health Care Plan + More.

Key skills, experience + duties to include:

As Interaction Designer you will be a key member of the User Centred Design (UCD) practice, applying user-centred design principles to deliver impactful solutions.

Strong Interaction Design, UCD and UX/UI design experience, including tools like: Heroku, Figma + Sketch.

Leading the design of intuitive, effective, and engaging interactions for digital products and services.

Shaping strategies, mentoring junior team members + ensuring work meets user needs and business goals.

Translating user research findings into actionable interaction designs.

Creating high-quality wireframes, prototypes + user flows to communicate design concepts clearly.

Ensuring designs align with accessibility standards including: GDS, NHS service principles, WCAG.

Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams + acting as a trusted advisor to clients.

Government / GDS / (url removed) domain experience is strongly preferred
