Infrastructure Manager

I am recruiting for an Infrastructure Manager to be based with one of my high calibre clients based in Norwich. The organisation is an IT provider who are known for delivering the best technology solutions to their ever growing client list.

Your core responsibilities will be for ensuring they continually achieve or improve their documented SLAs for their Data Centre services, as well as managing a small team of engineers.
To ensure a smooth operation at all times, you will continually plan the ongoing development of their services and the infrastructure which supports these. You will develop an agreed road map and a financial forecast, while working to achieve set company and departmental KPIs.
Included within the Data Centre are a variety of facilities which need to be fully maintained by external parties, which includes power systems, cooling systems, as well as fire and security systems. Along with the Data Centre services, you will also be responsible for the wider IT of the business, such as their desktop services, wall boards and remote working systems.
With regards to team management you will be an inspirational leader to your team, coaching to improve team members’ performance and creating an environment for personal development.
Due to the nature of this role, some out of hours and weekend work will be required for all members of the infrastructure team.

Along with your team, the role will include, but not be limited to, the following range of activities:

Ensuring all systems are patched on a scheduled basis
Deploying urgent security patches as and when required
Ensuring all systems are maintained both virtually and physically
Detailed planning for the implementation of replacement or upgraded systems
Fully supporting all systems, ensuring all documentation is completed and maintained
Working with Cyber Security Department, to ensure best practice is followed throughout platforms
Working with compliance on a regular basis to improve business processes and to maintain BCP
Ensuring all department KPIs are achieved
Completing performance reviews and developing team membersTechnical Knowledge

You will have strong knowledge in the following areas, but not limited to:

Hyper-Converged Infrastructure
Enterprise/online backup platforms
Enterprise storage solutions DAS/SAN/NAS
Switch maintenance, configuration and advanced VLAN knowledge
Enterprise grade firewalls and routers
Core Windows OS skills are vital for the role
Some Linux OS knowledge would be beneficial
Routing protocols BGP and MPLS technologies
Microsoft SCVMM / SCCM
