Data & Insight Officer
We are looking for someone with great Salesforce skills and experience, who can help us to pull information from our CRM that observes trends and patterns and skilfully use system integrations to automate certain processes so that our small team can work more effectively.
We need a self-starter who is able to understand how different users within the charity work with the information in the database and assist them to make better use of what Salesforce can do. We also need someone who can efficiently clean and segment our database and maintain high and robust standards of information protection and GDPR compliance.
Data & Insight Officer Responsibilities:
Ability to manage our database in Salesforce and reconcile all payments and pledges with Xero – as well as manage and oversee additional communications and donation platforms and data management, segmentation and exports, as required.
Analysis skills to be able to produce insightful monthly reports for the Senior Leadership Team; Finance; Trustee Meetings, and support the fundraising team.
Manage the Jubilee Sailing Trust database as our most valuable asset. Keeping it updated and clean on a day-to-day basis, including managing users, profiles, permissions and database training for new starters etc.
Build meaningful reports and dashboards, enabling data viewing to be tailored to the user types.
Monitor responses and track subscriptions to help inform on outcomes from fundraising and communications activity, particularly using Constant Contact for mailings as well as other integrated payment platforms for online donations and other types of data interactions.
Utilise the database to ensure thanking has taken place in a prompt and timely way and that those communications have been saved to donor records.
Inform and update the Head of Fundraising on response patterns, donor profiles and trends within the donor data, to assist in strategic decision making.
Assist the fundraising team with digital methods to capture and create information needed for reporting and feedback forms, for meaningful interpretation of donor activity or for branch and event support.
Liaise over any new and existing integrations to Salesforce and support the team with resolving data capture issues within Salesforce. Review and update processes and procedures to ensure the correct logging of information takes place, for both Fundraising, Finance and Customer Services.
Support – working with all teams to provide training, guidance and any other assistance required to ensure that Salesforce & associated processes are being undertaken effectively and in compliance with the charity’s governance and other rules.
Ensure the organisation is kept GDPR compliant and be the lead Data Protection Officer responsible for reviewing our data protection processes and ensuring compliance. Working with the IT function to ensure privacy is protected and that our systems are robust.
Reporting design and support – working with all teams to develop new, and improve existing, reports and dashboards. This will also involve understanding teams’ information requirements and assisting them in interpreting and effectively utilising their reporting.
Data & Insight Officer Requirements:
Excellent working knowledge of Salesforce and integrations.
Preparedness to be the Data Protection Officer.
GDPR compliance knowledge.
Flexible can-do attitude.
Eye for detail.
Desirable: Knowledge or interest in sailing and travel.
