Data Engineer – Jersey

My client is a seeking a Data Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis who will be responsible for designing, creating, and deploying enterprise-scale data analytics solutions, playing a crucial role in transforming our data into valuable insights that drive business decisions.

Responsibilities

* Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes
* Develop and maintain data models and transformation processes (we use Microsoft Fabric tools, including Synapse SQL Data Warehouse, Notebooks, and Data Pipelines but if you have experience of other platforms and tools that's ok)
* Implement and maintain our Data Warehouse, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security
* Create and maintain data documentation, including data catalogues and architecture diagrams

Essential skills

* Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimise database performance
* Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies
* Familiarity with Python for data processing and analysis
* Hands-on experience implementing ETL/ELT best practices at scale
* Understanding of data pipeline orchestration tools
* Knowledge of data governance principles and practices
