As part of this growth, we are now actively seeking an experienced Data Engineer on a permanent basis – someone who can transform raw data from multiple sources into information and dashboards, which can be used to make critical business decisions.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Transforming raw data from multiple sources into information and dashboards, which can be used to make critical business decisions.
Liaising with engineers and senior management to identify potential concerns and root cause from data sets.
Making recommendations that will facilitate the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and systems from the analysis of big data that the company will be generating.
Promoting a culture of data driven decision-making.
Providing inputs to other analysis tools in the business such as statistical modelling, cell performance and manufacturing process simulation.
Determining trends between manufacturing data and cell performance in order to inform and teach in-line checks (such as defect definition and detection) and supplement other predictive tools.
Determining trends between manufacturing data and failure events/issues – both in product and in process. Failure can include quality non-conformance/not to specification, meeting product requirements or equipment failure and capability issues.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally have a Degree qualification in relevant Engineering or Science discipline graded 2:1 or higher (such as but not limited to Computer Science, Mathematics, Software engineering, Data Management, Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or similar). Alternatively, plenty of relevant experience may be considered.
You will have relevant industry experience working as a Data Engineer in a manufacturing environment (Automotive & Motorsport, Battery or Semiconductor Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals is preferred).
You should have experience in the delivery of data solutions and ETLS pipelines.
You will have excellent programming skills at various levels in at least one of C, C++, Java, Scala to support ETLS activity.
Should be proficient in creating and querying structured and unstructured database management systems – MongoDB, SQL and Access.
Should have experience in using Data integration and warehouses such as MS Azure, AWS Redshift.
Will have an excellent knowledge in Microsoft tools (Excel, Visual Basic, Word, Powerpoint).
Knowledge of IoT communications including MQTT, HTTPS and SSL is required.
You will be able to plan activities and projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies, taking account of possible changing circumstances.It’s great if you also have the following:
A proficiency in Python programming.
An Excellent understanding of System Engineering fundamentals and methods.
A basic understanding of lithium-ion cell chemistry, design construction and formats. Experience in the design and development within an industrial manufacturing setting, which can be transferred to Lithium-ion batteries would be useful, but isn’t essential.
Experience in Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) software (such as SAP, LN or similar) as well as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) would also be a bonus.This position is available with immediate effect.
