Contract – Senior Software Engineer (C# / .NET / Azure)

6-12 months duration

Up to £480 per day

*Please note this is a 5 days a week on-site contract role in Manchester city centre*

My client in Manchester are looking for a senior engineer who delivers robust, high-quality software. You take ownership, move fast, and produce results that align with business goals.

You think strategically, communicate well with stakeholders, and bring strong technical leadership to your squad. You’re confident mentoring others in best practices, especially test-driven development.

You evaluate new tools, share insights, and make informed technical decisions that improve delivery speed and reliability.

You work well in Agile environments, enjoy collaborating with peers, and maintain a calm, structured approach under pressure.

Key Skills

Essential

Expert-level C# (.NET 6+)

*

Strong SQL Server experience

*

Proven track record in TDD (NUnit preferred)

*

Strong Git workflow knowledge (branching, conflict resolution)

*

Skilled in RESTful and GraphQL API design

*

Solid grasp of SOLID principles and OOP

*

Confident diagnosing and resolving production issues

Desirable

Experience with Entity Framework or similar ORM

Hands-on with DevOps, CI/CD, and Cloud (Azure preferred)

Familiar with key design and architectural patterns

*

Experience implementing observability (logging, metrics, App Insights)

Awareness of secure coding and system security practices
