Contract Full-Stack JavaScript Developer – Node & Angular
📅 6‑month contract (extensions likely)
💸 £400 per day – Inside IR35
🏢 60% Hybrid in Newcastle 

Opus is supporting a major migration programme for a UK Government department, delivered via a leading consultancy. This programme supports mission‑critical services dealing with high user volumes, sensitive data, and complex business processes.

We’re hiring Node.js & Angular Engineers to play a key role in frontend modernisation and service delivery.

🔍 What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting and delivering a large‑scale Angular migration
Building frontend applications using Angular & TypeScript
Developing backend services with Node.js & Express
Writing test‑driven code (Jest)
Working within CI/CD pipelines
Improving automation and frontend standards
Ensuring accessibility and WCAG compliance
Contributing to architecture and best practice across teams
✅ Required Experience

Strong experience with Angular (priority)
Node.js & Express
TypeScript
TDD and automated testing
CI/CD experience
Experience working on large, complex digital platforms
Agile delivery experience
⭐ Nice to Have

Kubernetes or containerisation exposure (Docker)
Cloud experience (AWS or Azure)
Public sector / government projects
SQL / NoSQL databases, Redis
SC eligibility (not mandatory)
