Business intelligence Analyst

* 45K PA

* 3 days remote onsite / 2 days remote

Our client, a globally recognised leader in tax, advisory, and risk management, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their Finance Systems Team based in Oldbury. As an SQL / BI Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining, enhancing, and developing the client's practice management systems, SQL databases, and Business Intelligence reporting applications.

Responsibilities:

* Daily Maintenance and Reporting: Responsible for the daily upkeep of Finance systems, including the development of Financial Reports utilizing SSRS, Power BI, Excel, VBA, and SQL.

* Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain Power BI and third-party dashboards to provide actionable insights.

* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders to support the utilization of reporting information within the firm's practice management application.

* SQL Expertise: Proficient in SQL to effectively interrogate databases and maintain SQL Interfaces between various Finance applications.

* External Collaboration: Liaise with third-party suppliers and external consultants to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

* System Enhancement: Work closely with the development team to interface SQL reports and data with SharePoint lists and reports.

* Testing and Documentation: Conduct system testing, document Finance system processes, and assist with system upgrades as required.

* Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot issues with current finance applications and reports to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Key Skills Required:

* SQL Proficiency: Expertise in SQL querying and database management.

* Power BI Expertise; Strong command of Power BI for data visualisation and analysis.

* Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose effective solutions.

* Effective Communication: Liaise effectively with internal IT and external suppliers on technical matters.

* Time Management: Prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines and deliver results.

* Solution-Oriented: Ability to understand user reporting requirements and propose innovative solutions.

* Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy and reliability of reports.

* Industry Experience: Previous experience working in an Accounting or Legal Firm environment preferred.

Desirable Skills:

Accounting System Knowledge: Understanding of accounting systems and practice management applications would be advantageous.

* SQL – SSIS, SSAS, SSRS

* Power BI & Microsoft BI

* Crystal Reports

* VBA Excel

* Access Focal Point and Access Dimensions
