3rd Line IT Support Engineer
Up to £45,000 DOE

Cordant people are currently working with a company who has over 30 years' experience in the direct marketing and transactional communication industries, they specialise in providing multichannel communication solutions for enterprise and marketing from consultancy and project management through to production and delivery.

What will you be doing?

To be responsible for support, maintenance and improvement of the clients server environment
To ensure our client's network and systems are secure from attack and compliant with recognised security standards and best practices.
To monitor our client's network and provide expert knowledge and guidance on security risks and improvements.
To support our client's business communication and messaging systems
To support and control our client's Active Directory infrastructure
To be responsible for maintaining our client's SQL servers
To support our client's public facing, load balanced, web servers
To configure and maintain our client's firewalls, routers and switches, to give the highest level of operational security possible. Including site to site and remote access VPNs.
To support client data transfer over a range of secure transfer methods
To devise optimal configurations for IT systems. To plan and advise on improvements to our client's systems, from initial design to rollout, taking full responsibility for the progress and completion of project work
To support Junior I.T. Engineers in resolving technical issues, ensuring they gain the knowledge to solve future problems, and imparting general knowledge on the clients systems
To carry out 1st and 2nd line support in the event of leave or sickness of more junior staff
To be responsible for documenting all our client I.T. systems within our clients facility. To ensure that company systems are transparent to other I.T. staff
To be responsible for keeping compliant with all software licensing
To Manage backups and procedures
To provide out of hours assistance as requested by the IT Manager, our client provides a 7 x 24hrs service and you will be required to be available for assistance in the case of an emergency
Applicants need to have experience with:

Server hardware, FC & iSCSI configuration, SAN storage
Microsoft Hyper-V
Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Microsoft Exchange
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft SQL management
Information Security systems and monitoring
Security legislation and best practice
Secure data transfer: SFTP, site to site VPN, Leased Lines
Cisco firewalls and switches
TCP/IP Networking
VOIP telephony systemsWhat you get in return:

Starting salary in the £40- 45k region DoE

It would be hugely desirable if you had experience of:

Cloud Services: AWS and/or MS Azure
Security standards such as ISO27001
Hold an Information Security specific qualification
