VisualFiles Developer
Fully Remote | £50,000 to £60,000 per annum

At Standard 8, we are representing a well-established London Firm in the UK looking to hire an experienced VisualFiles Developer. This is a fully remote role, sensible salary band, grown-up environment, and no nonsense about being chained to an office for “culture”.

The role, in plain English

* Design, build, enhance and support case and workflow management solutions using LexisNexis VisualFiles

* Improve how the business actually operates, not just how the system looks on paper

* Work closely with internal stakeholders and IT teams to turn requirements into scalable, compliant, user-friendly solutions

* Balance speed with quality, because both matter and pretending otherwise is how tech debt happens

What you’ll be responsible for

* Writing clean, maintainable, efficient VisualFiles code that follows best practice

* Owning features end-to-end, from initial design through deployment and ongoing support

* Taking part in code reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback without ego

* Continuously improving code quality rather than kicking problems down the road

* Delivering work on time while testing properly, not crossing fingers and hoping

* Adapting quickly when priorities shift, because they will

* Understanding the business objectives behind your work, not just the ticket description

* Contributing to team meetings, retrospectives, and knowledge sharing

* Keeping your work visible through clear updates, documentation, and project boards

* Problem-solving independently first, but knowing when escalation is the sensible move

* Actively learning new tools, techniques, and approaches to stay sharp

What we’re looking for

* Proven experience developing with LexisNexis VisualFiles

* Strong programming fundamentals with a focus on maintainable, readable code

* Solid understanding of development best practices, testing, and code quality

* Experience using version control systems such as Git

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Comfortable working autonomously in a fully remote setup

* Clear, professional communication skills, written and verbal

* A collaborative mindset, no lone-wolf heroics required

* Genuine ownership of your work from start to finish

* Curiosity and a willingness to keep learning, because stagnation is optional
