Supplier Relationship Manager Team Leader

This role sits within an internal IT department that provides a variety of services to multiple clients. The department is responsible for the support and maintenance of business enterprise applications, as well as delivery and support of commoditised IT to the company and specific clients.

The post holder will ensure key supplier relationships are managed effectively and will implement rigorous controls to manage operational risk, obtaining best value from strongly negotiated contracts and improving delivery efficiencies from its suppliers through collaborative working. It will include managing a portfolio of IT suppliers and contracts up to the value of £10m.


Supplier Management

* Provide a customer focused supplier relationship management service whilst attaining appropriate standards of operational delivery, such as; timely contract renewals, timely and effective stakeholder management, robust risk mitigation management, regular awareness seminars/skills share sessions, rigorous budget controls

* Review supplier’s goals/direction and ensure they remain aligned to current and future needs to deliver effective, forward thinking services

* Produce and maintain an engagement plan for strategic suppliers which details our management approach for monitoring, reviewing and future proofing the services they deliver

* Undertake supplier assurance activities to assure that suppliers have adequate security controls in place to manage data

* Monitor and expedite key supplier management tasks via system and service owners

* Ensure there is an on boarding and exit strategy for each supplier as well as ensuring the service transition is supported as and when contracts end

* Build strong relationships and work closely with other government departments or any service or supplier orientated programmes

* Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the frameworks in place and procurement routes such as Digital Marketplace

Contract Management

* Work with Procurement or other procurement bodies, as appropriate, to ensure contracts have been developed with:

* due diligence

* accurate and appropriate requirements and service levels

* monitoring of performance, operational risk and financial stability in mind

* adequate management information to ensure visibility of supplier management performance

* use of the correct procurement contract vehicles and frameworks

* Manage contracts ranging in value up to £20m, ensuring contracts are renewed/expired as appropriate

* Provide best practice advice to internal stakeholders and assist them with developing high quality requirements prior to procurement activities

* Co-ordinate contract and supplier management controls, including maintenance of a schedule of contract dates and other relevant contract/supplier data

Service Delivery Support

* Underpin ISS service delivery through:

* monitoring suppliers’ performance against contractual obligations

* monitoring Service Level Agreements using scorecards and dashboards

* obtaining regular feedback from service delivery teams on supplier performance

* being an escalation point in the supplier management chain

* holding regular service review meetings where appropriate

* agreeing and managing service improvement plans where necessary

* Build and sustain principles that support internal teams acting as internal suppliers and being managed as such

* Build strong collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal teams to drive strategic value
