SQL Server DBA – NHS – Remote
Our client a large acute NHS Trust require a SQL Server DBA with excellent monitoring and tuning skills to provide additional support.
*Strong SQL Server Knowledge (Apply online only) – NHS Experience
*SQL 2019 Experience
*In-Depth SQL Tuning Knowledge
oConfiguring Query Store
oNew Features and Tuning, e.g. Scalar UDF Inlining and Batch Mode on Rowstore
oExecution Plan Analysis (replaying comparing) vs actual plan.
oLight-weight Profiling with Extended Events e.c.t.
*Knowledge of SQL Server host on Virtual Hyper converged Infrastructure
oBenchmarking compatibility changes / database upgrades
oSSRS Solid understanding of configuration and permission
oSSIS configuration including package store permissions
oCommon understanding of best practices and maintenance , e.g. indexing / integrity check / cleanup tasks / monitoring / backups
oExperience working with SQL VSS Backups Tools (e.g. cohesity / dpm)
oStrong Replication Knowledge
*SQL Always-On Knowledge
oStrong understanding and Experience of Failover clustering
oExperience with AG's
*SQL Development Knowledge
oTuning Reporting Processes / Queries
The client has advised they need a DBA to start looking at monitoring / tuning their clusters as much as possible, so candidates must have experience with this area of work and be willing spend time on some dedicated analysis for them to get the most out of the clusters.
Remote working – home based with some travel to site for meetings
