Head Resourcing are working with a Fintech company in Edinburgh who are actively looking for an experienced SQL DBA to join the team. In the role you will be required to balance multiple projects covering many disciplines and be comfortable working both on your own initiative and as part of wider project teams.

As well as supporting existing systems you will be working on developing future platforms and systems to keep current and competitive, covering on premise, private and public cloud facilities.

In order to be successful in the role, candidates ideally need,

* Microsoft SQL Server o Performance tuning/index analysis, and analyse, solve, and correct performance issues in real time.

o Monitoring SQL Server system, performance and job health.

o Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.

o Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.

o Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities.

* SSIS

* Windows Server, Hyper-V and Failover Clustering o Experience maintaining and building SQL Server availability groups.

* Infrastructure architecture, data centres, servers, and private cloud

Exposure to the following would also be highly desirable:

* Dynatrace Observability

* Postgres SQL

* AWS RDS

* Linux operating systems

* Data warehousing software/tools.

* Financial Services experience
