Software Validation Engineer

My client focuses on commercializing environmentally responsible automotive components and core solutions based on proprietary technologies. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, my client is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.

They currently seek a Telematics Software Validation Engineer to join them on a rolling contract basis, based at their Coventry site.

* They are looking to recruit a Software Validation Engineer in Coventry to work alongside their software development team to deliver all aspects of software testing on our Telematics System. This exciting opportunity will involve working with both their development vehicles and using custom built test benches.

Responsibilities:

* Plan, prepare and execute Software Verification and Validation testing.

* Writing technical reports to document the test processes and procedures performed in accordance with the appropriate standards to support approval for release.

* Perform on-bench and in-vehicle regression, new feature and stress testing prior to release.

* Investigate the issue by analysing failure logs and be able to identify stakeholder/root cause/known issue

* Identify and report any software issues to the development team

* Develop test methodologies and maintain and develop equipment to facilitate testing (Vector, CANalyser, etc.)

* Work with the development teams to reproduce and investigate customer issues and assist in resolution.

* Learn and utilise new technologies.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

* Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. An applicant with JLR work experience would be a preferred.

* Experience with Software Validation testing processes and an understanding of automotive communication (CAN, Ethernet and Diagnostics).

* Experience with Automotive diagnostic tools (Vector CANOE and similar).

* Proven numerical and analytical skills.

* Strong communication and team working skills.

* Eye for detail and problem-solving ability.
