There’s plenty of unfair stigmas about desktop development.
Like people thinking you still use an old-school monitor, which you rest your morning coffee on whilst the dial up connects.
Obviously, this isn’t the case.
Well, I’ve been working with a business in Worksop for the last 3 years now, whose core application is WPF (MVVM C#) desktop based, with plenty SQL and .NET behind the scenes. They’re busier than ever and are looking for a couple of Software Developers to join them.
They’ve actually restructured their development teams recently, allowing them to look at different technologies and possibly transitioning to web sooner rather than later – they’ve already got some areas in web which are written in .NET Core, which will probably be the tech they use moving forward.
Don’t worry, you wouldn’t need WPF experience, you’ll be joining an established team of 17 people, which means you’ll have a strong team around you to help get you up to speed.
They’ve always had a WFH culture, meaning when their office reopens, you’d still be able to spend half the week working from home and benefiting from their really flexible hours.
For now, I see the roles paying up to £45,000.
If the roles look of interest, please get in touch with Jack Leeming @ Optima Dev.
Don’t worry if you haven’t got an updated CV, we’ll worry about that later
