Software Architect
Would you like to write software for the UK's latest frontline fighter, 3D mission planning systems for Typhoon and Hawk jets or exploit tactical data links to enhance and optimise Command, Control and Situational Awareness across the whole battlespace? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Architect at our site in Yeovil.
As a Software Architect, you will be you will be working closely with our Technical Managers to translate customer requirements into compelling designs and solutions which can be delivered on time and on budget.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with potential to become a leader in a global business?
Your main responsibilities as a Software Architect will involve:
Ownership of architecture and design
Adhering to project processes and software development practices
Software development of solutions
Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
Supporting System Test and Integration Activities
Producing appropriate technical documentation
Diagnosing and solving identified issues
Your skills and qualifications:
Software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing) and tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs)
Experience of software development including desktop-based applications in an appropriate language: C++, Java, C#
Knowledge of Windows or Linux target environments
Object-oriented design/development including UML
Experience with project specific tools and processes such as DOORS, Enterprise Architect, JIRA, Git
Aerospace / Defence / military industry knowledge
What we are looking for in you:

* Occasional travel may be required
Location: Yeovil
Salary: £47,000+ depending on skills and experience
