Who we are looking for
Here at Babcock International we're looking for a Simulation & Modelling Analyst to join a multi-disciplinary team within Land Defence, providing the MoD with an assured and decisive decision support capability.

As a Simulation & Modelling Analyst you'll be tackling complex niche analysis problems that have wide-ranging implications for Defence. You'll be highly IT literate with advanced experience in the use of Excel, data manipulation and statistics. You will have significant experience of using modelling and simulation to solve problems, and experience with Discrete Event models. This can be a high-pressure environment requiring an analytical mind, critical thinking and tenacity.

This position offers Flexible/Agile working, with occasional travel to Andover.

What will you be doing?

Interpretation of customer requirements into comprehensible analytical questions and project steering
Undertaking suitable analytical projects and studies to develop actionable insight and conclusions
Conducting internal Verification and Validation exercises as part of the governance process
Providing the Authority and Business with decision support from the analysis of equipment platforms, inventory, usage and fleet management.
Conducting briefings and presentations as requested
Conducting / leading analysis projects as requested and in accordance with business prioritiesThe experience you'll bring

Qualified in a numerical/analytical discipline to degree level. HNC/HND or working towards with relevant experience may be suitable (essential)
Experienced problem solver using recognised tools and techniques i.e. Discrete Event, Numerical simulation, Mathematical Programming, Heuristics (Essential)
Understanding of statistical significance, confidence intervals and margins of error (Essential)
Practical knowledge and use of the Python and/or VBA programming language (Essential)
Experience with reliability/survival/failure analysis (Essential)
Experience with statistic/analytical model building (Essential)
You must hold, or be capable of achieving Security Clearance at the appropriate level for this position.What a role with Babcock offers
