A multi award winning company with headquarters in Bath is looking for a Service Operations Engineer to join the ever growing team.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting internal customers though the service desk function and on-site requests for technical queries and requests.
Supporting the install engineering team, escalation and troubleshooting of technical issues affecting our ability to connect customers to the network.
Supporting the customer care team, by performing technical tasks relating to the onboarding of customers, and the diagnosis of underlying faults affecting service.
Providing one-to-one support for IT infrastructure users, and developing internal support resources for training and self-serve documentation around common issues.
Investigating service operations issues, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with the software and network teams to resolve technical issues.
Development, testing and documentation of technical service and system configurations, to support product and service improvement.
Maintaining a database of issues and faults, and a knowledge base of solutions, for future reference and training within the team.
Management, provisioning and on-going maintenance of IT equipment, such as laptops, printers, servers, and other systems.
Coordination of on-boarding/off-boarding activities, to ensure internal customer access to business systems and services.
Maintaining inventories/asset registers of hardware and software issued to employees.
On-call cover for service operations issues out of hours.

Key Skills needed

Extensive knowledge of computer hardware systems
Familiarity with general OS systems, Enterprise, programming languages, and Office software
Knowledge of LAN and wireless networks
Proven ability to work individually, and within a team, to ensure that tasks are achieved within defined SLAs
Patience and good communication skills for user support
Ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues and explain them to non-technical audiences
Knowledge of database and networking security systems
Experience with service management tools and reporting
