As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be a skilled Practitioner and a role model in Infrastructure solutions. Responsible for ensuring best practices are adhered to across the department and guiding teams on how to deliver quality Infrastructure products. You will assist in the design of Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. With a focus on operational stability, robustness, resilience, availability, and quality you will be accountable for infrastructure solutions.
You will also have the ongoing responsibility for the full range of products that make up Network Services. Working in collaboration with a range of internal/external partners, stakeholders and customers you will ensure the operational stability, robustness, resilience, availability and quality of DWP Networks.
You will be part of an organisation responsible for the delivery of digital platforms and services, real-time analytics and flexible infrastructure, providing secure and resilient services to DWP. Joining an innovative, supportive community of skilled digital professionals, you will work in agile and creative ways in order to improve technology services.
What skills and experience do we need you to show us?
We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer who is well versed in Network Security and who can show they have the following experience and skills:
Designs, implements, administers and supports Network technologies, solutions and services such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructures, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including PaaS, SaaS.
Ensures that the right actions are taken to investigate, resolve and anticipate Network problems. Takes accountability of issues that occur and is proactive in searching for potential problems
Able to dissect a Network problem to its component parts to identify and diagnose root causes.
Has a deep understanding of the Network technical concepts required in their role and understands how these fit into the wider technical landscape – Understands the limitations of digital technology.
Inspires and motivates teams to be fully engaged in their work and dedicated to their role. Stand by, promote or defend own and team's actions and decisions where needed.
Deliver a high quality, efficient and cost-effective service by considering a broad range of methods for delivery. Creating regular opportunities for colleagues, stakeholders, delivery partners and customers to help improve the quality of service.Details. Wages. Perks.
