Senior Guidewire Developer / Consultant

Work Location: Norwich or Perth, UK (Onsite / Office-based)
Contract Type: Contract – 6 Months
Rate: Market Rate

Our client is a large UK-based financial services and insurance organisation, operating at enterprise scale with a strong focus on digital transformation and cloud modernisation. The organisation is currently undertaking a strategic consolidation of its Policy and Claims administration platforms, leveraging modern Guidewire cloud technologies to support new insurance products and future growth.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Guidewire Developer / Consultant to support Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter v10 implementations and cloud migration initiatives. The role involves hands-on development, system integration, performance optimisation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a complex enterprise environment.

Role Overview

* Support large-scale Guidewire Policy and Claims platform transformation initiatives

* Design, develop, and implement Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter solutions

* Contribute to cloud migration, system integration, and long-term platform stability

Key Responsibilities

* Analyse complex business requirements and translate them into technical Guidewire solution

* Configure and customise Guidewire PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter applications

* Design scalable and high-performance system components

* Develop advanced modules and guide junior team members

* Plan and execute system deployments and monitor successful integrations

* Perform performance tuning and optimisation activities

* Support data migration from legacy systems to Guidewire

* Produce high-level and low-level technical design documentation

* Apply Agile development practices and engineering best practices

* Support reconciliation activities and identify system or data inconsistencies

Required Qualifications

* Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter (v10)

* Proven experience in Guidewire cloud migration and implementation programmes

* Solid understanding of general insurance and claims processes

* Experience integrating Guidewire with:

* Finance and general ledger systems

* Payment systems and document management platforms

* Third-party broker or policy management systems

* Experience integrating third-party feeds into cloud data platforms

* Data migration experience from legacy systems to Guidewire

* Proficiency in GOSU, XML, PCF, REST, and SOAP

* Experience reconciling Guidewire data with data warehouses

* Strong experience with GitHub or similar source control tools

* 5+ years of experience working with customers or senior internal stakeholders

* Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle

Desirable Skills

Guidewire ACE Certification

Programming languages: Java, Python, PL/SQL

Frameworks: Spring Boot, React, Angular

Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server

DevOps tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes

Agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban

Monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Splunk
